Focotivity Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026

Focotivity is a Chrome extension that helps you understand website and browser activity in the Chrome profile where it is installed, reduce distractions, and run focus sessions.

Information Focotivity processes

To provide its features, Focotivity processes information about the websites you visit while using Chrome in the profile where the extension is installed, including:

Website domain names (for example, youtube.com)

How long you actively spend on those websites in that Chrome profile

Focus session and break activity

Settings you configure, such as Study Mode sites, website limits, timer preferences, and notification preferences

Focotivity uses a content script only to learn whether the active page is visible, so time spent in background or hidden tabs is not counted as active usage.

Focotivity does not track total computer usage. The current version does not track desktop applications outside Chrome (for example Discord, Unity, or Cursor), and it does not track other Chrome profiles where Focotivity is not installed.

How this information is used

Focotivity uses this information to:

Calculate browser-time and website-usage analytics for this Chrome profile

Power productivity features such as Study Mode and the focus timer

Enforce website time limits

Block distracting websites when Study Mode or a blocking limit is active

Show local reminders and notifications related to focus sessions, breaks, and limits

Storage and transmission

Current browsing and productivity data is stored locally on your device using Chrome extension storage (chrome.storage.local).

Focotivity does not currently send your browsing history or browser-time data to a Focotivity server.

Focotivity does not sell browsing data.

Focotivity does not use browsing activity for advertising.

Your controls

You can delete or reset Focotivity data from the extension Settings page, including:

Resetting today’s statistics

Resetting all browser-time history

Resetting settings to defaults

Uninstalling the extension also removes its locally stored extension data according to Chrome’s normal extension uninstall behavior.

Permissions

Focotivity requests Chrome permissions needed for website and browser activity tracking in this profile, website blocking, timers, notifications, and local storage. It does not request permissions for advertising identity or unrelated cloud account access.

Future changes

If a future version of Focotivity changes how data is collected, stored, or transmitted, this privacy policy will be updated and appropriate disclosure will be provided to users.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

Focotivity’s use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
